1997 The first ever Sleepy Sleepers Tribute Show immediately
breaks the bank: 1100 spectators drink beer kegs dry at the concert area.
1998 Professori Heikkerö publishes a "Boy Calender".
1999 City Magazine votes Professori Heikkerö the worst band in Oulu.
City Magazine is a poshy nation-wide free paper that lists ongoing events.
2000 Professori Heikkerö is proposed a record deal. The band starts
covering other artists besides Sleepy Sleepers.
2001 Professori Heikkerö receives the Viewers' Choice Award at the Oulu
Music Video Festival for the music video "Join Niin" (I drank so much), a
cover and parody of "Join Me" by HIM. The video airs internationally.
2001 Professori Heikkerö is seen on Finnish TV channels Moon TV and
MTV3. Finnish Parliament Spokesperson Ms Uosukainen disapproves of
Professori Heikkerö..s video at a Q&A session at the Parliament.
2002 Poko Records publishes the single "Rapulatango" (Hangovertango) in
May, and the debut album "Alkoholistit Areenalla" (Alcoholics at the Arena)
in September. The album features guest star performances by Ville Laihiala
of Sentenced / Poisonblack, and Maya Paakkari.
2002 Three music videos are published from "Alkoholistit Areenalla". In
addition to the instant success "Join Niin", these are the cover version
"Seksisonni" (of Tom Jones' "Sex Bomb"), and Kuopio-Mikkeli.
2003 The band is featured in the book "Rokatessa Roiskuu 2". This book
series details the adventures and events experienced by famous Finnish Rock Bands.
2004 In co-operation with the Kärpät Official Fan Club, Professori
Heikkerö publishes a mini-CD: "Kärpät On..." (Kärpät is...). The CD
includes
the new official Kärpät Victory Song "Lataa Sisään!" (Shoot It In!),
and a
cover version of the old Victory Song "Kärpät On Rautaa" (Kärpät, Made
of
Steel) The CD also includes karaoke versions of these songs (Karaoke is
very popular in Finland). Kärpät was the Finnish Ice Hockey Champion in
2004,
2005, 2007 and 2008.
2004 Video of "Lataa Sisään!" published.
2006 Video of "Posliinityttö" (Fully-Shaved-Girl) published.
2006 Cover Band Finnish Championships 2006, finalist.
2006 Christmas single release: Rasvasta Joulua! (a tongue-in-cheek
"Grimy Christmas")
2007 Single and video release: "Karvanoppakuningas" ("Furry Dice King", the song
is a parody of Finnish working class young men, who all seem to have a pair
of furry dice as their car mascot) The single is named their 2007 summer
theme song by the band.
2007 The video release "Russia" (a parody of Finnish Idols 2007). The
video reaches Top 1 on YLE MUSIC TV's Most Wanted list. Yle is the
biggest TV company in Finland.
2008 Video of "Ja juhlat jatkuu..." (Still the party goes on) published.
2008 "Ketunääntelyä vol2" (Crashes, bangs and other assorted
